In the early 2000s, and after a traditional training in ceramics, Paola feels the need to face new challenges that allow her to present a more personal body of work. The discovery of paper pulp was what reaffirmed her desire to work with ceramic in a less restrictive way that allowed her to freely express herself. This hybrid medium has let her stray away from the beaten tracks and the static, rigid shapes that frustrated her in traditional ceramic making.

Her use of recycled cardboard, as well as her solar panels, allow her to make sustainable pieces. The dynamic, light and poetic lines that shape her work place it midway between functionality and sculpture.
Her spacious, luminous studio, in the middle of the Italian countryside, is her primary source of inspiration. Nestled in the heart of the surrounding nature, this space has played a major role in the genesis of her collections, many of which bear names evocative of flowers, animals or plants.
